# Loop

Loop Subscriptions is the Shopify subscription app 2400+ DTC brands use to cut churn, recover failed payments, and manage subscriptions on Shopify.

#### Plugin Activation <a href="#shipengine-pluginactivation" id="shipengine-pluginactivation"></a>

* Navigate to Admin → Plugins → Data Sources
* Click on the **Loop** tile
* Click the <mark style="color:green;">**+Activate**</mark> button
* **apiToken -** Enter value obtained from Loop
* **ShopifyStoreURL** - Enter the Shopify store URL.  This should match a Shopify plugin.  Do not include https.
* Click the <mark style="color:green;">**Connect**</mark> button

* Copy the API user and password
  * This API user has the minimum required permissions needed by Loop.  If needed you can adjust these permissions using standard API user management in Checkout Champ.  Be careful - this has the potential to impact the integration.
* Enter the user and password into Loop

#### Loop Workflow <a href="#shipengine-ratingrequests" id="shipengine-ratingrequests"></a>

* All subscription details are managed in Loop.  Checkout Champ is used only for billing.
  * All rebills will be initiated by Loop
  * Subscriptions will be available in Checkout Champ for reporting and viewing
  * No cancellations, reactivations, price updates, billing period updates, or product updates will be done in Checkout Champ
  * Do not setup Prebill autoresponders in Checkout Champ.  Loop will manage all notifications.
  * Do not expect Recycle Billing profiles to be used.  Loop will manage all billings.
* Products (selling plans) sync from Loop when products sync from the Shopify store.  This creates Recurring products in Checkout Champ.
* Follow instructions to redirect checkout from Shopify to Checkout Champ
  * be sure to enable **sendInitialOrders** and **sendRebillOrders** on the Shopify plugin
  * Upon checkout, the completed orders will be sent to Shopify and picked up by Loop.  Loop will create a Shopify subscription for each order.

#### Customer Portal <a href="#shipengine-ratingrequests" id="shipengine-ratingrequests"></a>

A Checkout Champ customer portal is required for shoppers to update cards.  This is the only part of a subscription that is managed in Checkout Champ.  Shoppers will link directly to the portal from Loop.

1. Go to [app.checkoutchamp.com](https://app.checkoutchamp.com/)
2. Add a [Customer Portal](/funnel-builder/creating-and-editing-funnels-pages/funnel-visualizer-and-page-builder/customer-portal.md) funnel
3. Assign a [domain](/funnel-builder/creating-and-editing-funnels-pages/domain-configuration.md) to the funnel
4. Enter the full portal URL at Loop (it should end in /portal)
