# Profile

The **Profile** section lets you control which customer profile details are shown in the Customer Portal and which details customers are allowed to update themselves.

These settings help you decide how much account management access customers should have after logging in.

### Open the Profile Settings

From the Customer Portal Builder, select **Profile** from the left-side menu.

The Profile screen includes settings for:

* Billing address
* Shipping address
* Credit card information
* Password changes

## Profile Settings

### Display Billing Address

Turn on **Display Billing Address** to show the customer’s billing address in the portal.

When enabled, customers can view the billing address associated with their profile or order.

When disabled, the billing address section is hidden from the customer.

### Allow Billing Address Edit

Turn on **Allow Billing Address Edit** to let customers update their billing address from the portal.

This setting should usually be enabled only when **Display Billing Address** is also enabled.

| Setting      | What it does                                                  |
| ------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Enabled**  | Customers can edit their billing address.                     |
| **Disabled** | Customers can view the billing address, but cannot change it. |

### Display Shipping Address

Turn on **Display Shipping Address** to show the customer’s shipping address in the portal.

When enabled, customers can view the shipping address associated with their profile, orders, or subscriptions.

When disabled, the shipping address section is hidden from the customer.

### Allow Shipping Address Edit

Turn on **Allow Shipping Address Edit** to let customers update their shipping address from the portal.

| Setting      | What it does                                                   |
| ------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Enabled**  | Customers can edit their shipping address.                     |
| **Disabled** | Customers can view the shipping address, but cannot change it. |

This is useful when customers need to update where future orders or subscription shipments are delivered.

### Display Credit Card

Turn on **Display Credit Card** to show the customer’s saved payment information in the portal.

For security reasons, customers will only see limited card details, such as the card type and last four digits.

When disabled, the credit card section is hidden from the customer.

### Allow Credit Card Update

Turn on **Allow Credit Card Update** to let customers update their saved payment method from the portal.

| Setting      | What it does                                                         |
| ------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Enabled**  | Customers can update their credit card information.                  |
| **Disabled** | Customers can view the saved card information, but cannot update it. |

This is helpful for customers with subscriptions, failed payments, or expiring cards.

### Enable Change Password

Turn on **Enable Change Password** to let customers change their portal password.

| Setting      | What it does                                               |
| ------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Enabled**  | Customers can update their password from the Profile page. |
| **Disabled** | The change password option is hidden.                      |

Use this setting when you want customers to manage their own login credentials.
