# Subscriptions

The **Subscriptions** section lets you control how customer subscriptions are displayed in the Customer Portal and which subscription actions customers can perform.

From this section, you can manage subscription display options, add-ons, pause/reactivation actions, billing edits, quantity edits, price edits, variant changes, and edit page routing.

### Open the Subscriptions Settings

From the Customer Portal Builder, select **Subscriptions** from the left-side menu.

## Show Subscriptions

Use **Show Subscriptions** to choose how subscriptions appear to customers in the portal.

| Option    | What it does                                                                                                                   |
| --------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Table** | Displays subscriptions in a table format. This is useful when customers need to scan subscription details in rows and columns. |
| **Card**  | Displays each subscription as a separate card. This provides a more visual, mobile-friendly experience.                        |

## Settings

### Display Cancelled Subscriptions

Turn on **Display Cancelled Subscriptions** to show cancelled subscriptions in the portal.

| Setting      | What it does                                                |
| ------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Enabled**  | Customers can view both active and cancelled subscriptions. |
| **Disabled** | Cancelled subscriptions are hidden from the portal.         |

This is useful when customers need access to previous subscription history.

### Display Product Images

Turn on **Display Product Images** to show product images with subscription details.

| Setting      | What it does                                             |
| ------------ | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Enabled**  | Product images are shown with each subscription.         |
| **Disabled** | Product images are hidden from the subscription display. |

## Add-Ons

Turn on **Add-Ons** to allow customers to add additional eligible products to their subscription.

When enabled, customers can view and select available add-on products from the subscription area.

Use this option if you want to increase subscription value by offering related products customers can add to their recurring order.

## Actions

### Allow Pause

Turn on **Allow Pause** to let customers temporarily pause an active subscription.

#### Maximum Pause Duration

Use **Maximum Pause Duration (Months)** to set how long a customer can pause a subscription.

Example:

```

This limits how far into the future a customer can pause their subscription.

### Allow Resume

Turn on **Allow Resume** to let customers resume a paused subscription.

| Setting      | What it does                                               |
| ------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Enabled**  | Customers can resume paused subscriptions from the portal. |
| **Disabled** | Resume options are hidden.                                 |

### Allow Reactivate

Turn on **Allow Reactivate** to let customers reactivate eligible inactive subscriptions.

This is useful when customers previously cancelled or stopped a subscription and want to start it again.

### Action Button View

Use **Action Button View** to choose how subscription actions appear to customers.

| Option    | What it does                                |
| --------- | ------------------------------------------- |
| **Icons** | Shows subscription actions as icons.        |
| **Words** | Shows subscription actions as text buttons. |

Use **Words** when you want actions to be clearer for customers. Use **Icons** when you want a more compact display.

## Edit Configuration

The **Edit Configuration** section controls what customers can change when editing a subscription.

### Allow Customer to Enter Coupon Code

Turn on **Allow customer to enter Coupon Code** to let customers apply a coupon when editing their subscription.

| Setting      | What it does                                                 |
| ------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Enabled**  | Customers can enter a coupon code during subscription edits. |
| **Disabled** | Coupon code entry is hidden.                                 |

### Display Skip Button

Turn on **Display Skip button** to let customers skip their next billing.

This gives customers a self-service option when they do not want to receive or be billed for the next subscription cycle.

#### Shippable Products Only

Turn on **Shippable products only** if the skip option should only appear for subscriptions that include shippable products.

### Allow Customer to Edit Billing Frequency

Use **Allow customer to edit Billing Frequency** to control whether customers can change how often they are billed.

| Option           | What it does                                                    |
| ---------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Do Not Allow** | Customers cannot change billing frequency.                      |
| **Input**        | Customers can enter a billing frequency value.                  |
| **Dropdown**     | Customers can choose from predefined billing frequency options. |

Use **Dropdown** when you want to limit customers to approved billing frequency choices.

### Allow Customer to Edit Next Bill Date

Turn on **Allow customer to edit Next Bill Date** to let customers choose a new upcoming billing date.

| Setting      | What it does                                          |
| ------------ | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| **Enabled**  | Customers can update the next billing date.           |
| **Disabled** | The next bill date cannot be changed by the customer. |

### Allow Customer to Delay Billing

Use **Allow customer to delay Billing** to let customers move their next billing date forward by a set amount of time.

| Option           | What it does                                        |
| ---------------- | --------------------------------------------------- |
| **Do Not Allow** | Customers cannot delay billing.                     |
| **Input**        | Customers can enter their own delay amount.         |
| **Dropdown**     | Customers can choose from predefined delay options. |

When **Dropdown** is selected, you can create delay options using:

| Field           | Description                                            |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Delay**       | The number of days, weeks, or months to delay billing. |
| **Time Period** | The unit of time used for the delay.                   |

Example delay options:

| Delay | Time Period  |
| ----- | ------------ |
| 5     | Day/Days     |
| 2     | Week/Weeks   |
| 1     | Month/Months |

#### Shippable Products Only

Turn on **Shippable products only** if billing delay should only be available for subscriptions with shippable products.

#### Allow Customer to Skip Next Billing

Turn on **Allow customer to skip Next Billing** if customers should be allowed to fully skip the next scheduled billing cycle.

### Allow Customer to Edit Quantity

Use **Allow customer to edit Quantity** to control whether customers can change the quantity of products in their subscription.

| Option           | What it does                                           |
| ---------------- | ------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Do Not Allow** | Customers cannot change subscription quantity.         |
| **Input**        | Customers can enter a quantity.                        |
| **Dropdown**     | Customers can choose from predefined quantity options. |

Use **Dropdown** when you want to limit customers to specific quantity choices.

### Allow Customer to Edit Price

Use **Allow customer to edit Price** to control whether customers can change the price of a subscription item.

| Option           | What it does                                        |
| ---------------- | --------------------------------------------------- |
| **Do Not Allow** | Customers cannot edit the subscription price.       |
| **Input**        | Customers can enter a price.                        |
| **Dropdown**     | Customers can choose from predefined price options. |

For most portals, this setting should remain disabled unless your business process specifically allows customers to choose from approved pricing options.

### Allow Customer to Change Variant

Turn on **Allow customer to change variant** to let customers update product options on their subscription.

Examples of variants may include:

Size
Color
Flavor
```

This is helpful when customers want to keep their subscription active but change the specific version of the product they receive.

## Edit Page Routing

The **Edit Page Routing** section lets you choose a custom built change product page for customers to be sent to when editing specific subscription products.

Each routing row includes:

| Field       | What it does                                              |
| ----------- | --------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Product** | The subscription product the routing rule applies to.     |
| **Page**    | The page customers are sent to when editing that product. |

Use the **Add** button to add a new product-to-page routing rule.

This is useful when different subscription products need different edit experiences.
