# Facebook Messenger

Facebook Messenger can be added to your site in 2 ways:

1. Enable the chat plugin on all pages
2. Enable the Messenger checkbox on checkout pages

### Chat Plugin <a href="#facebookmessenger-chatplugin" id="facebookmessenger-chatplugin"></a>

The Facebook Chat Plugin can be automatically placed on all pages on your site.

* Go to **Settings > Add Ons**
* Enter your **Facebook Page ID** and check **Enable chat plugin**
* Press Save & Continue
* Publish

The Chat Plugin is setup at Facebook at Page Settings > Messaging

### Messenger Checkbox <a href="#facebookmessenger-messengercheckbox" id="facebookmessenger-messengercheckbox"></a>

The Facebook Messenger Checkbox can be placed on your checkout page. This allows consumers to opt in to communication with you.

* Go to **Settings > Add Ons**
* Enter your **Facebook Messenger App ID** and your **Facebook Page ID.**
* Press Save & Continue.
* Edit your checkout page(s)
* Add a Form checkbox to the page. Position it where you want the Messenger checkbox to be (your checkbox will be replaced by the FB box). Give it the name “messenger”.
* Save the page
* Exit the page builder
* Publish

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.checkoutchamp.com/funnel-builder/creating-and-editing-funnels-pages/funnel-visualizer-and-page-builder/funnel-visualizer/edit-funnel-settings/add-ons/facebook-messenger.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
