Adding a Product to a Campaign

To add a product to a campaign as an offer or upsale, you will need to make sure you have your base products added and a gateway account. Once you have products and gateway accounts added you can follow the instructions below.

Go to CRM → Campaigns and click the blue Edit Button:

This will open the Campaign Editor. Under Campaign Products select Options to Add Offer or Add Upsell.

This will open the Offer Editor where you will find sections for the General Details, Billing Schedule, Trial Options, and Order Limits of the Campaign.

  • Campaign Product Id: The internal ID assigned to this offer, used in API calls and migrations.

  • Product Type: Offer or Upsale. Offers are, generally, the main offerings on your site, where upsales are products that would be sold post-purchase as a one-click upsale. Only Upsale products will be available for selection on Upsale page types within the funnel builder. This designation is also used in some reports.

  • Show to Affiliates: [Upsales Only] Will display the stats for this upsale on the affiliate user's Affiliate Report.

  • Use Offer Gateway: [Upsales Only] Processes the upsale against the Gateway Account assigned to the completed offer. If the offer is using a Gateway Profile, the upsale will use the same Gateway Account chosen by the Gateway Profile. The upsell transaction will still run against the offer gateway if the gateway has capped since the offer transaction; use the gateway's Monthly Cap value to account for this.

  • Display Name: The name of the product that your customers will see on your website and in autoresponders. Reporting by Campaign Product will also use this name.

  • Base Product: The product you created within the product editor, or synced from a plugin. Click "view base product" to open the base product in a new browser tab.

  • Gateway Account: The gateway/payment account that you want to process the sales against

  • Dynamic Descriptor: The descriptor that will show up on customers' billing statements. This overrides the descriptor set within your gateway settings.

  • Qty Per Order: The quantity per order of the campaign product. This will override the Qty Per Order setting on the base product.

Billing Schedule

  • Stand Alone Transaction: By default, any products that are routed to the same gateway and purchased at the same time will run against the same transaction (both New and Recurring sales). Enabling this option will force this item to always be billed as a standalone transaction. It will never be combined with another item in a combined transaction.

  • Billing Type: One Time, Recurring, or Multi Pay

    • One Time: A straight sale product with no recurring/rebill aspect

    • Recurring: A subscription product that rebills on a regular cadence, usually monthly, quarterly, or annually. Each rebill, except the first rebill of a trial offer, will generate a new orderId.

    • Multi-Pay: A one-time shipment for a product with multiple payment installments. Each payment installment bills against the same orderId as the initial sale.

  • Final Billing Cycle: The Cycle where the Recurring or Multi-Pay offer should discontinue and update the purchase status from Active to Complete.

  • Persistent Rebill Day: Enable this option if you want to rebill purchases on the same day of the month as the original order, even if the purchase is saved by Recycle Billing. Generally useful for digital products that customers must pay for access to.

  • Fixed Billing Day: The day of the month that this product should bill.

  • Stagger Fulfillments: Enable this option if you want to bill more frequently than you send Fulfillment. For example, you send a 3-month supply but still bill monthly.

  • Stagger Payments: Enable this option if you want to send Fulfillments more frequently than you bill. For example, you send monthly supplies but bill yearly.

  • Use Chargeback Protection: This setting will preauthorize the full billing amount on the day of billing and hold the transaction in a pending state. After the number of days specified (maximum of 10), the transaction will be captured/settled. There is also an option to delay fulfillment until successful capture.

    • There are separate options to enable this on New Sales and Rebills

    • This can be used in conjunction with Capture on Shipment (configured on the campaign). In the case both are enabled Capture on Shipment will only affect the initial order.

    • Enabling this option will delay shipping integration.

  • Delay Fulfillment on Rebill Transactions: Available for recurring products only. This feature delays sending fulfillment for a specified number of days, to allow a consumer to cancel before product is shipped. This is independent of Chargeback Protection. If the fulfillment delay is less than the Chargeback Protection delay then the product will ship before capture.

  • Bill on Saturday: Enabling this setting will move the next bill date to the first Saturday after the cycle bill delay. This was implemented to support the concept that many people are paid on Fridays.

  • Block Prepaid Cards: Enabling this setting will prevent prepaid cards from being used to purchase this item. This will allow for a more customized approach for blocking prepaid cards. Rather than blocking all prepaid cards from a campaign you can now specify which products can/cannot accept them. This option will not be displayed if the Block Prepaid Cards campaign level option is checked.

  • Bundle Subscriptions: This option is available for Recurring products only. It allows multiple recurring products purchased at the same time and with the same bill delay to be bundled together for future billings. The bundle will create one order for each billing. Editing the next bill date on a bundle will update all the products in the bundle. The bundle products can be cancelled individually or en masse. Products can be added to the bundle as needed. More details are here.

  • Visible on Storefront: Show or hide this product visible in your storefront

  • Custom Storefront Messages: Custom messages are available only on Storefront pages. It allows customers to personalize their purchase of a product. Enter one or more options separated by commas. For example, Name, ID, Position.

  • Override Price: If enabled, external prices from synced products will not replace the campaign product price or the compare at price during synchronization. This option will cause the campaign product price to take precedence over variant prices. To override variant prices, edit the variant within the base product.

  • Cycle By Cycle: Define the Price, Ship Price, Shippable Status, and Bill Delay (if applicable) per cycle.

  • Bill Delay: Number of days to wait between billing cycles.

  • Compare At Price: Used to display discounts. The product's original price goes here

  • Base Product: Used to rotate the fulfilled SKU on the cycle. Cycle 1 cannot be rotated to a different SKU than the offer/upsale base product.

  • Combination Product: Used to add an additional SKU to a billing cycle.

In the example above, this Recurring purchase will bill $19.99 at the time of purchase and a fulfillment record will be generated. This will repeat every 30 days until the customer cancels or declines out.

Trial Options

Trial Type

Standard: Trial period is determined by amount of days

Accelerated: Accelerated trials bill cycle 2 within a specified number of minutes of a sale. This cannot be greater than 24 hours. Enter the duration in minutes of the free trial under Trial Length.

Trial Auth Type

  • Authorize and Void: This strategy only allows an order to process if an authorization against the full cycle 2 trial amount is approved. On approval, the shipping is billed, the initial authorization is voided, and the order is completed.

  • Hold Trial Charge: Like Authorize & Void, this option authorizes the full cycle 2 trial amount. The difference is that the Authorization is not voided, but instead is left in place. On the day of the cycle 2 billing, the authorization is settled. This option has excellent approval percentages (100% often), but is disadvantaged because the charge is visible on the customers card as a pending transaction for the duration of the trial.

  • PreAuthorize: This option is only used for free trials. It will preauthorize a card for $1.00 and immediately void it.

Order Limits

  • Min. Price: The lowest price a Campaign Product can be sold for.

  • Max. Price: The highest price a Campaign Product can be sold for.

  • Max. Quantity: The maximum quantity of products a single order can contain.

Press the Create Product button when you are done.

Image

After creating the product, you will see an option to upload an image. If you have uploaded an image to the base product, you will see that image instead of the default upload image.

Click on the image window to choose an image to upload. The campaign product image will overwrite the base product image where applicable. Uploading an image to a campaign product will not change the base product image itself.

Batch Update

The Batch Update options allow you to update various products in a campaign in at a time.
