Shopify Coupons

Shopify coupons can be brought into CheckoutChamp

Not all Shopify coupons are supported in Checkout Champ

  • "Automatic discount" coupons will not sync due to limitations in the Shopify API

  • "Purchase type" (Subscription / One-time purchase) coupons will not sync due to limitations in the Shopify API

  • Checkout Champ supports only product level discounts. Variant discounts from Shopify are not supported.

  • The “Apply coupon for specific customers” feature is not supported

  • The "Coupon Combinations" feature is not supported

  • The "Limit number of times this discount can be used in total" feature is not supported

  • In Buy X get Y coupons, the “Customer Gets” feature cannot be applied to multiple products

  • Country-level free shipping is not supported

Coupons generated by third-party apps are not automatically imported because the large number can be overwhelming and potentially unnecessary. Please discuss with your account manager if app-generated coupons are needed. More information is in Option 1 below.

Option 1 - Automatic sync

Navigate to Admin > Plugins > Data Sources and open the appropriate Shopify store

Check the syncCoupons box

Coupon codes are synced from Shopify every hour

This option is not reliable on Shopify stores with a large number of coupons. Some Shopify apps, such as Postscript, create hundreds of thousands of coupons in a store. Shopify’s API rate limits and coupon design make the sync a long process with many chances for interruption. If all coupons are not visible in CheckoutChamp then use Option 2.

Option 2 - Manual sync

Export coupons from Shopify and manually generate a CheckoutChamp import file. The file format and import instructions can be found here.

Use the following mappings to generate the import file from Shopify coupons
