Currency Selector

If you are selling internationally then you may want to show the prices of your products to the customers in their own currency. This article will walk you through setting up a currency selector on your page.

  • Add countries to the campaign

  • Add currency options to the campaign

  • Add currency selector to the funnel page(s)

Add countries to the campaign

Inside app.checkoutchamp.com, edit the funnel that you would like to add a currency selector to.

Open the funnel settings and click the edit button next to the campaign name.

Next, scroll down to the available countries for the campaign and add all the countries that you would like to accept sales from.

Add currency options to the campaign

Go to the funnel Settings and select the Currencies option

Add Currencies as needed. The base currency will always display.

  • Alignment - Location of the currency symbol

  • Decimal Character - Choose comma or period to be in the decimal place, the opposite will be in the thousands place

  • Decimals - Number of decimal places in the currency

  • Rounding- Decimal amount to round to after exchange rate and conversion fee calculations. This always rounds up. For example, if the value after exchange rate calculation is 45.37 and Rounding is set to 95, the price will be rounded up to 45.95.

  • Conversion Fee - Add a percentage after exchange rate calculation and before rounding

  • Send this Currency to the Gateway

    • Checked - Send the transaction to the gateway in this currency instead of the campaign base currency. This is required if using Rounding or Conversion Fee. This is also required for the base currency. The transaction will be stored in this currency, so customer service agents will see this currency viewing order details. Refunds will occur in the transaction currency.

    • Unchecked - Display live pages and autoresponders using the currency options. Send the transaction to the gateway in the base currency. The transaction will be stored in the base currency, so customer service agents will see the base currency viewing order details. Refunds will occur in the base currency.

Add currency selector to the funnel page(s)

Now that you have added the available currencies, edit a funnel page and drag on the premade Currency Selector element. This is found within the Forms elements.

Feel free to style the element however you would like.

You could also add the selector to the page and hide it if you prefer visitors not see the selector. In this case, the user’s currency would be set based on the geo located country of their browser. However, if the selector is hidden, the user would not have the option to select a different a country to show the amounts in that other country.

For example, if the selector is hidden, a user whose browser geo locates to Germany would automatically see the amounts displayed in euros. However, they would no longer have the option to select any other currency, like the US dollar (or the currency of any other country specified in their campaign).

The currency feature could also change other currencies on the page outside of the order summary. For example, you could also change the amount displayed in an Order Bump by ensuring that amount is added in a form label.

To do this, the label must use the campaign's base currency symbol.

Inside the page builder you will not see the currency options. These will only display on the live site or preview.

Be sure that any label on the page that includes a currency symbol is the symbol of the campaign base currency.
